Chloride Domestic Water Improvement District

The Chloride Domestic Water Improvement District provides water to the residents of Chloride through a six mile pipeline from the Sacramento aquifer in Golden Valley. The District is overseen by a five member volunteer board of directors of Chloride residents and funded by user fees as well as a share of the property tax collected by Mohave County.

Please note that we are prohibited from selling water outside of our district (the area enclosed by the four cattle guards on the west, east, north, and south sides of town). If you have acquired, or are looking to acquire, property outside of that area, your only options will be drilling a well or water haul.

Our water quality is excellent. Find our Water Quality Reports, approved by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, here:

Sign up for water service at the office on 4921 Payroll Avenue (next to the library). The office is open to the public from 9 am to 11 am, Monday through Friday. Call ahead to make sure that we will be there when you are in town.

You can speed up the process by filling out the Application for Water Service ahead of time. Bring your driver's license. Sorry, no credit cards, we only accept cash, checks, and money orders.

The board of directors meet every second Wednesday of the month at 6 pm at the Chloride Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings! At the annual public hearing in mid June, you can weigh in when it comes to the budget for the next year.
